INDIANAPOLIS — Big sales are happening now - or soon - to try to get you to spend money.

Target's Deal Days are now through Saturday, Oct. 8

Walmart's Rollbacks and More is Monday, Oct. 10 - Thursday, Oct. 13.

Amazon's Prime Day is Tuesday, Oct. 11- Wednesday, Oct. 12.

While a goal might be to start your holiday shopping early, think of other events coming up, too.

For example, if you have a bridal shower coming up, Target is selling a KitchenAid Mixer for $280. According to Honey's price tracker, that's a great price.

If you are doing holiday shopping, also consider holiday donations.

It's a good time to browse sales in case your church holds a toy drive, or you sponsor a family.

Nerf guns, for example, are half-off at Target.

If you're shopping Prime Day, their best deals are usually on their own products. Those include think Ring Doorbells, Alexa devices and Fire Sticks.

Whatever sale you shop, know the return policy and price matching policy just in case you find a lower price.

But the most important thing to know: your boundaries.

Kimberly Palmer with NerdWallet said this year will be challenging because everything is more expensive.

"It's more important than ever to be organized and set a budget for yourself. And also for each person you're buying for. It's a great year to actually coordinate with your friends and family and have that conversation hey, let's scale back this year, let's spend last because so many people are feeling this pressure," Palmer said.

Before you buy anything look up an item's price history.
